Grant Advisory Committee Member
Location: Community-based (meetings may be virtual or in-person)
Honorarium: Provided quarterly
Commitment: Volunteer position; meeting frequency varies with grant cycles
Overview:
The Grant Advisory Committee (GAC) is made up of three community volunteers who help evaluate and advise on grant applications alongside the JCTS Grant Committee. The GAC ensures grants are distributed fairly, transparently, and in line with JCTS’s goals: recovery, resilience, and risk reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Evaluation:
Review grant proposals and assess how well they align with JCTS’s priorities.
Evaluate based on impact, feasibility, and community benefit.
Advisory Role:
Provide feedback and recommendations on applications.
Share insights and engage in discussions with committee members.
Meetings:
Attend 3 meetings quarterly to review and discuss applications.
Participate in occasional training or informational sessions.
Confidentiality:
Keep all applicant materials and internal discussions confidential.
Comply with JCTS confidentiality policy.
Community Engagement:
Help spread awareness about the JCTS grant program in the community.
Advocate for fairness, equity, and sustainability in grant decisions.
Qualifications:
Community Connection: Experience or strong ties to the local community.
Diversity: We value diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Commitment to Fairness: Ability to make fair and transparent decisions.
Experience: Previous community-based or public service experience is a plus but not required.
Teamwork: Ability to collaborate and communicate well with others.
Honorarium:
Members receive a quarterly honorarium in recognition of their time and efforts.
