Our Team

Ashley Peacey – Director

Biography:

I moved to Jasper in May 2011 and have since established deep roots in the community. The recent evacuation allowed me to reassess my priorities. When the fire destroyed my second restaurant, I realized I was grateful for the chance to focus on one restaurant and devote more time to my family. Jasper’s strong sense of community is what makes it feel like home, so I reached out to the Jasper Community Team Society to see how I could help. Jasper attracts adventurers, dreamers, and opportunists, and I’m thankful to be part of a community that supports us all.

Evacuation Snapshot:

My husband and I, our two kids (8 and 10), two cats, and Moe the guinea pig spent four hours on the highway before being escorted by the RCMP through the fire. Once we reached Edmonton, the cats stayed with family while Moe embarked on a 22-day adventure with us. Along the way, he quickly became a celebrity, making countless friends and fans across Alberta and British Columbia. Who knew a guinea pig could steal the spotlight during an evacuation? Moe definitely kept the journey memorable!

Brooklyn Rushton - Co-chair

Biography:

I first came to Jasper in the summer of 2017, working as a horse guide at Pyramid Lake Stables. Initially drawn to the mountains, I quickly fell in love with the community and made Jasper my permanent home in May 2020. When the wildfire hit, I was one of the fortunate ones whose home was sparred, and with that, I knew I wanted to support Jasper’s recovery in any way I could. That commitment led me to join the JCTS board in September 2024. I firmly believe in the power of community helping community, a value that becomes even more critical during times of crisis and is central to the work of the Jasper Community Team Society.

Evacuation Snapshot:

I was in Lake O’Hara at Elizabeth Parker Hut with a group of other Jasper residents when the evacuation happened and had no cell service. I didn’t find out about the evacuation until almost a full day later. I took the first bus to try to piece together what had happened. When we got into service, we found out that our dog and vehicle were already at my parents’ home in Salmon Arm, BC, thanks to our amazing friends. That time was filled with uncertainty, but the resilience and generosity of the Jasper community shone brightly—and still does today.

Pamela Clark – Director

Biography:

I've been playing and working in the Jasper mountains for over 50 years. My father’s love for skiing brought us to Jasper every other weekend when I was in kindergarten, and that early immersion sparked a deep curiosity about this place. It eventually led to my first summer job at Miette Hot Springs.

Over the years, I’ve worked as a ski patroller, environmental educator, and teacher, but most of my career was spent in various management roles with Parks Canada, including Public Affairs, Visitor Services, and Visitor Experience, living in several inspiring park locations. Now, I’m focusing some of my free time on giving back to the community and the kind, caring residents who’ve helped make Jasper home for me and my family.

Lindsey Gartner – Director

Biography:

I joined the JCTS board because I believe in its mission and purpose. Organizations like JCTS strengthen our community’s ability to support Jasperites in innovative and creative ways. As a board member, I strive to stay closely connected to the needs of the community and to find new ways to improve how we serve.

Evacuation Snapshot:

I was off-grid in Lake O’Hara during the evacuation and came back into service to a wave of intense news. I went to my parents’ farm in central Alberta, where we hosted many Jasperites as they migrated from Valemount to Hinton. During this time, I started volunteering with JCTS on emergency communications and later worked on the incident in Hinton as an Information Officer for the Municipality of Jasper. Being part of the response helped me stay connected to the community throughout the evacuation period.
