JASPER COMMUNITY TEAM SOCIETY FUNDS
Here you'll find detailed information about the various funds we have available, fund distribution processes, portfolio sub-funds, future fundraising initiatives, and our commitment to sustainability practices.
FUND DISTRIBUTION
Funds raised for wildfire recovery are distributed through a three-year strategy:
77% directly supports individuals and families through Community Outreach Services (COS).
5% funds recovery-focused community programming.
18% is allocated to a Legacy Reserve. These funds are used or invested to support ongoing operational costs that ensure the JCTS remains able to serve the needs of community members now and into the future.

THE SUB-FUNDS WE HAVE
-
JCTS has three designated sub-funds to provide financial assistance to individuals and families facing small, but significant barriers to their overall well-being.
Community Outreach Services (COS) administers the funds, ensuring they reach those most in need while maintaining flexibility to reallocate resources as required.
-
The Child & Youth Participation Fund is designed to support children and youth by ensuring access to cultural, recreational, and educational opportunities that contribute to their well-being and long-term development.
This fund covers activity fees, school participation costs, equipment, and other expenses that allow children to stay engaged in sports, arts, and extracurricular programs despite financial hardship. It also supports childcare services and early childhood development programs, recognizing the critical role these play in helping families recover and rebuild stability after the wildfire.
-
The Mental Health Fund helps residents access critical mental health and wellness resources, ensuring they have the necessary support for emotional and psychological well-being. It covers counselling, therapy, and related costs, including medication, transportation, and accommodation expenses for those needing out-of-town mental health services.
Recognizing that many residents are coping with trauma and long-term stress due to the wildfire, this fund ensures that financial barriers do not prevent individuals and families from receiving the mental health support they need.
-
The Health & Well-being Fund is aimed at helping residents overcome barriers to their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
This includes covering food security, shelter, medical expenses, prescriptions, clothing, infant and childcare essentials, transportation, household necessities, and mobility supports. Additionally, rent and utility support are covered on a one-time basis with payments made directly to landlords.
