JCTS announces new Executive Director
For Immediate Release
JASPER, AB - The Board of Directors of the Jasper Community Team Society (JCTS) is pleased to announce that Wanda Bogdane has joined the organization as executive director, term appointment, and has already begun advancing the team’s work with key partners in her first days and weeks.
A decades long resident of the Canadian Rockies, Bogdane lives in Canmore and has been connected to Jasper since 2005 through work and recreation. She brings senior leadership experience from the charitable and non-profit sector, including executive director roles with the Banff and Lake Louise Hospitality Association, KidSport Calgary, among others. Expertise as a professional communicator, strategic planner, and social entrepreneur will help round out the varied demands of this role.
She is known for moving major projects over the finish line, which includes having led a customized Emergency Preparedness Series in 2022 & 2023 for Banff National Park’s tourism industry, developing a hyper-targeted Mental Health Campaign to support the Bow Valley’s workforce during the pandemic (still in use today), and was a pivotal member of Banff National Park’s economic task force helping the destination recover with calculated build-back-better strategies, policies and initiatives.
As the JCTS is amid an important development phase, Bogdane will work closely with the board of directors and administrative team to progress the organization’s plans, strengthen operations and build a strategic roadmap to support Jasper’s wellbeing and resilience.
“It has been a time of growth and evolution for our organization, and we have learned a great deal along the way,” said JCTS co-chair Brooklyn Rushton. “Our commitment to community remains steadfast and is rooted in a deep resolve to create meaningful impact for Jasper. This year, we are moving forward with fresh energy and continued focus. We are so excited to have Wanda’s expertise to lead the JCTS into a pivotal phase of social recovery.”
“Community-building has been at the heart of my most rewarding work,” said Bogdane. “Jasper is a place I care deeply about, and I’m looking forward to working alongside the board, our team, partners, and donors to support what comes next. We have a strong foundation in place and I’m eager to progress our priorities.”
